At 14, Sarah became homeless and was unable to attend school. Surviving on the streets completely eroded her self-esteem leading her to make a series of bad choices, before finding herself in foster care.

After several months without a home, Sarah’s foster carers gave her a safe and supportive environment where she was able to heal and grow her feelings of self-worth.

After just a few short months of loving support and stability, Sarah made a life changing decision. She was going to take back control of her life and change her path. She went back to school and studied in her own time – just 18 months after she was found sleeping rough, Sarah completed her GCSEs and made her way to A-Levels.

5 years on and at 22, Sarah graduated from University with her degree in Social Work – her foster family were very proud to attend her graduation.

Fostering really can help change lives.
