Black History Month has always been a time to celebrate the contributions of Black people across the UK – the past, the now as well as future possibilities. Traditionally, October has been the only time when we have been encouraged to speak about the achievements of Black people in Britain. But with the events of 2020, hopefully we will start to see the contributions and celebrations shared much more widely; and become integrated within all our communities throughout the year.
This year, the Next Step Fostering Group is bringing together and celebrating our communities’ pride in the diverse histories of those from African and Caribbean descent; and celebrating their achievements and contributions across the UK.
