Therapeutic Foster Care

Next Step has built successful links with a Greenfinch Charitable Trust that have skilled experts and practitioners in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Child Psychology, Play therapy and Post Traumatic Stress Disorders.

This service is now confirmed as an addition to Local Authorities. Many of the children we provide foster placements for have suffered abuse, trauma or loss. They may have phobias and attachment disorders or other identified deep-rooted psychological issues and will be eligible for the support.

This therapeutic service is available for a child or child and adult. The service can continue for up to six months. This service can also be attached to any of our other placement services.

Next Step has recognised that the delay in accessing this type of support for some children may impact on their current difficulties. This service is there to provide the child, the carer and, if appropriate, the parents, with timely and expert support
